Head of Maintenance and Performance (Melbourne)

The Opportunity This is a newly defined senior leadership role created to unify continuous improvement and maintenance oversight under a single accountable mandate. As Head of Maintenance and Performance, you will lead our manufacturing performance and asset reliability agenda; driving measurable gains in plant efficiency, equipment uptime, and maintenance effectiveness across our Australian and New Zealand operations. What You'll Do You will own the full maintenance and performance function, including:
- Leading the plant-wide continuous improvement program, embedding CI methodologies and driving OEE improvements through structured loss analysis and targeted projects
- Owning the site maintenance strategy across preventive, responsive, and condition-based programs; maximising planned work and minimising reactive breakdowns
- Supporting a skilled maintenance workforce including trades, reliability engineers, and planning/scheduling functions
- Driving reliability-centred maintenance (RCM), FMEA, and root cause analysis across critical plant assets
- Governing the CMMS as the authoritative system for all asset history, work orders, and KPIs
- Supporting the maintenance OpEx budget, with input to capex proposals for asset replacement and upgrade
- Integrating capital planning, ESG metrics, and automation to transform legacy infrastructure into a scalable, future-fit platform
- Partnering with General Managers and Operations teams to build capability, embed lean principles, and sustain performance gains
- Ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and OHS requirements across all maintenance activities What We're Looking For You are a senior operational leader with a proven track record in both continuous improvement and maintenance management, ideally within manufacturing, commercial laundry, or a similarly asset-intensive setting. You bring:
- Deep expertise in reliability-centred maintenance, OEE, and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Experience managing multi-site or complex maintenance functions, including trades and engineering teams
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to own budgets and build business cases for capital investment
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms and data-driven maintenance performance reporting
- The leadership presence to build a culture of continuous improvement at every level of the organisation
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks and sustainable operations is highly regarded Why Join Our Team?
