Overview You're a design leader passionate about HV substations and renewables, and thrive on high-impact projects. About the Company Our client is a fast-growing engineering consultancy driving Australia's energy transition through innovative grid connection and design solutions. They deliver end-to-end engineering for substations, wind, solar, and BESS projects. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design delivery for HV substations and renewable energy assets. This role reports to the Head of Engineering and involves managing internal and external teams, coordinating design across procurement, construction, and commissioning, and ensuring high-quality, on-time project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for HV substations, wind, solar, and BESS projects
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, structural, and SCADA systems
- Interface with procurement, OEMs, NSPs, and subcontractors to ensure design integration
- Oversee design reviews, documentation, and quality assurance
- Mentor and develop junior engineers Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (CPEng or working toward chartership preferred)
- 10+ years experience in HV substation and renewable project design management
- Solid knowledge of protection, control, eBOP systems, and SCADA integration
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience on Australian projects & full time working rights Why Join
