The Opportunity As part of La Trobe Financial’s Finance Division and reporting to the Sox Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the SOX compliance program, with a primary focus on Information Technology General Controls testing and support for Business Process Controls testing activities. The role will partner with business and technology stakeholders to execute testing procedures, assess control effectiveness, identify risks and control gaps, and support remediation activities. In addition, this role will contribute to broader first line of defence uplifting initiatives to continuously improve the effectiveness and maturity of internal controls. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Senior Analyst – SOX Compliance include but are not limited to:
- Execute controls testing activities in accordance with approved testing plans and methodologies
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to coordinate testing activities (e.g. performing walkthroughs and obtaining required evidence)
- Perform hands‑on testing of Information Technology General Controls
- Support Business Process Controls testing across key financial reporting process
- Assess control effectiveness, identify control gaps and drive meaningful remediation with control owners
- Contribute to ongoing improvements to Sox methodologies, templates and testing process
- Support first line of defence uplift initiatives to strengthen and enhance the internal control setting About You The successful applicant will ideally possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in IT General Controls, technology risk or IT audit. Additional skills and experience required include:
- Degree qualification in Information Systems, Technology, Risk Management or Accounting/Finance
- CA/CPA/CISA Qualification preferred
- Proven experience in IT General Controls, application controls, cybersecurity and IT governance
- Good understanding of IT audit frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ISO27001 and NIST CSF) and relevant regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of control testing principles and able to produce high quality testing documentations and perform gap assessment
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- High attention to detail
