Testing & Commissioning Engineer (Melbourne)

They specialise in HV asset testing, commissioning, and project delivery for renewable energy projects, helping clients reduce grid connection complexities and risks. Role Overview: We are seeking Testing & Commissioning Engineers to work on greenfield and brownfield HV substations as well as utility‑scale solar and renewable projects. The role reports to the Commissioning Manager and involves commissioning, GPS compliance, AEMO approvals, and collaboration with project development and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform commissioning and testing of HV substations and renewable assets
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and ITPs/ITRs
- Conduct energisation and advanced protection testing (line distance, transformer differential, CB management)
- Support SCADA, control system, and signal testing for substation and solar farm assets
- Collaborate with clients, TNSPs, AEMO, and internal teams Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Power Systems
- Minimum 3 years experience on Australian projects with full working rights
- Experience in utility substations and/or solar farm testing and commissioning
- Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, protection, and control systems
- Knowledge of network connection rules, AEMO guidelines, and relevant testing authorities
