About this role2 Full time ongoing positions1 full time fixed term position 12 monthsSalary based on experience, range: $89,029 – $104,924 plus superUp to $15,900 in salary packaging, flexible hybrid work arrangementAbout the roleIn this role you will provide information and advice to legal practitioners and legally-aided clients about VLA's policies and guidelines, as well as rights and obligations under the Legal Aid Act 1978 (Vic).You will be reviewing lawyers' files to ensure that grants of legal assistance are compliant with VLA's funding eligibility guidelines, means and merits tests. You will identify and respond to potential risks to the legal aid fund and legally-aided clients, contributing to VLA's quality assurance program.This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.About youAs our ideal candidate, you will possess:The ability to analyse and interpret laws and policies and apply them to complex factual situationsThe ability to analyse lawyers' files and make appropriate findings in accordance with VLA's guidelines and policiesHighly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with stakeholders and prepare reports and recommendationsHigh level organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and effectively progress outcomes.Don't meet every requirement?
