Description
Overview 4DMedical is a cutting‑edge medical technology company specialising in advanced diagnostic imaging solutions that are revolutionising respiratory healthcare. We are an ASX200 company with several products cleared by the FDA and other international jurisdictions. Our cutting-edge technology draws on measurement science and a deep understanding of physiological processes, providing actionable insights into lung function and enabling early detection and precise treatment of respiratory conditions. Complementing our approach, we develop sophisticated AI‑driven lung imaging analysis of lung and cardiovascular structure to enhance the accuracy and depth of diagnostic information. Together, these technologies deliver a comprehensive suite of tools for personalised respiratory care. Responsibilities As a Research Engineer, you will join a tight‑knit team investigating and evaluating current image‑processing techniques. You will be responsible for designing and evaluating, using scientific principles, the underlying methods used in our novel lung motion investigation software. The research team leads the early stages of product development, including concept generation, building and testing prototypes, and supporting 4DMedical’s formal software development, clinical studies, and imaging hardware R&D; projects. Qualifications We seek creative researchers from backgrounds such as engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science and data analytics. You should have a degree in Engineering or Science, with experience undertaking world‑class research in a field related to image‑based measurement – for example, traditional or deep‑learning image processing techniques, Particle Image Velocimetry or related flow measurement methods, computer vision, and signal processing. You’ll be a highly capable programmer, able to translate research ideas into scientifically testable prototypes. Experience in 3D reconstruction techniques and X‑ray imaging is a plus, though not essential. Understanding of lung physiology or biomechanics would be highly advantageous. People of all ages, genders and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Benefits
