Job Description WSP’s Power & Energy team partners with clients to solve complex technical challenges in the energy transition. Our work spans renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS) & alternative energy storage technologies, modern thermal generation, and transmission and distribution—delivering efficient, reliable, and resilient outcomes across Australia and beyond. The Opportunity We’re looking for a Structural Engineer to play a key role in delivering structural design and analysis across a range of transmission & distribution projects, supporting major utilities, renewable connections and industrial HV clients. You’ll bring strong technical capability, a cooperative mindset, and confidence working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical and high-quality outcomes. What you’ll do In this role, you will contribute structural design across the full lifecycle of high voltage substation projects — from planning and design through to construction support and commissioning. Key responsibilities include:
- Work in a high impact, market-facing and structural engineering delivery focused role
- Manage ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients
- Ascertain specifications and evolving client requirements
- Proactively determine, manage, monitor and control scope of works
- Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and Structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets
- Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally About you
- Strong expertise in Structural engineering and design documentation, including sound working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes
- 2+ years’ industry experience on Australian structural engineering projects, ideally in a consulting environment
- Proficient in the use of engineering software tools such as Space Gass, Toolkit, ETABS, RAPT, Strand7
- Experience in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging and scale and sector
- Adept in cross-discipline project delivery and an effective collaborator with all key engineering disciplines
