We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented PostgreSQL Database Developer – Junior for a 3 months contract to join our growing team. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience working with PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
- Strong foundation in SQL and relational database concepts. Must Haves
- Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL database development.
- Strong understanding of SQL in production environments.
- Experience in SQL performance tuning and query optimisation.
- Knowledge of developing PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and database logic.
- Understanding of database performance, integrity, and maintainability best practices.
- Ability to work closely with application development teams. Preferred
- Exposure to data modelling and schema design.
- Basic understanding of indexing strategies and execution plans.
- Familiarity with version control and change‑management processes.
- Good communication and documentation skills. Role & Responsibilities
- Support, develop, and optimise PostgreSQL database workloads.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and maintain efficient data models.
- Write, review, and optimise SQL queries and PL/pgSQL code.
- Assist with database performance tuning and issue resolution.
- Ensure database integrity, consistency, and maintainability.
- Participate in troubleshooting production issues and implementing fixes.
