Devops Engineer Banking Melbourne

DWS is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer from a banking or financial services background to join a large, complex enterprise workplace, supporting the delivery and operation of highly available, cloud-native platforms. This role focuses on building, automating and maintaining robust AWS-based infrastructure and CI/CD capabilities that enable development teams to deliver secure, scalable microservices in a highly regulated banking workplace. Where: Melbourne CBD | Start: ASAP | Length: Up to 12 months | Style: Hybrid; 3 days onsite | Type: ACN / Max Term; Up to $850/day (ACN) or $220k (inc. super) (Max Term) This role will suit someone with very strong cloud and DevOps engineering capability who enjoys working close to development teams and taking ownership of platform reliability, automation and security. Qualifications
- Very strong knowledge of AWS cloud services including compute, networking, storage, and security
- Substantial experience managing Kubernetes platforms and containerised workloads
- Solid CI/CD pipeline engineering experience using contemporary tooling
- Expert use of Infrastructure as Code to build repeatable, automated environments
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging and observability in production systems
- Proven scripting and automation skills for platform operations
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles and secure-by-design practices
- Experience supporting high‑availability, transaction‑heavy platforms
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response and root cause analysis capability
- Comfortable working in Agile / DevOps delivery environments Responsibilities You will work closely with engineers, architects and security teams to improve platform reliability, enable faster delivery, and continuously uplift DevOps maturity through automation and best practice.
