About the Role Ready to be the key driver in a major business transformation for an iconic Australian energy company? We have an exciting prospect for a Business Analyst to join our growing Technology and Development team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of financial reporting requirements for our current Core Retail Platform (CRP). You will be the crucial link between the Finance team and the Technology Implementation team, ensuring all financial data and reporting is robust and that Finance is well prepared for future reporting and analysis. This role is based in the iconic Bryant & May Building in Cremorne, with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Key Responsibilities
- Champion the design, development, and configuration of Finance requirements for the recent Core Retail Platform (CRP) and its supporting applications.
- Conduct end‑to‑end Finance requirements mapping in consultation with stakeholders, and write functional specifications that align with Finance objectives.
- Navigate complex data structures and system logic to deliver accurate, retail‑energy‑specific Finance reporting requirements.
- Proactively research and problem‑solve challenges, particularly those involving estimation and judgement.
- Coordinate and execute testing activities to ensure all financial system, data, and reporting outputs meet defined business requirements and expectations.
- Manage the integration of current solutions into existing Finance processes to ensure a seamless implementation and minimal business impact.
- Develop complete and accurate finance‑related documentation, including process flows and training materials, for a successful project handover. Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology.
- Business Analyst experience within Utilities; retail‑energy experience highly regarded.
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst, including 3+ years in transformation (ERP, Billing, or platform implementation).
- Skilled at bridging the gap between finance stakeholders and technical developers.
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex scope and competing priorities.
- Proficient in data analysis; SQL skills highly regarded.
