- 6 month interim role, with potential for an ongoing chance Reporting directly to the Director Corporate Services, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior Finance professional to lead the day-to-day finance operations for a recognisable Statutory Authority. This is a hands‑on role, suited to a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a structured, deadline‑driven environment and enjoys working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders to lead strategy as well as performance outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive team and CEO, balancing strategic foresight with practical delivery as the organisation continues its evolution. The finance function plays a critical role in supporting complex, regulated operations, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and high‑quality reporting to drive financial sustainability, and data‑informed decision‑making across the organisation. Leveraging platforms such as Tech One and other emerging technologies, the role will lead the evolution of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, transforming these functions into agile, insight‑driven capabilities. This includes embedding advanced analytics and scenario modelling always to support strategic foresight and organisational resilience, ensuring information remains secure. The role is also responsible for the organisation’s payroll services and economic systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and future‑ready. The role is deeply collaborative, working closely with business units to drive strategic financial planning, identify operational efficiencies, support effective financial management, and create financial literacy. The CFO also engages externally to strengthen relationships with regulators, auditors, and technology providers, ensuring financial systems and practices remain future‑focused and compliant. - 6 month contract basis. What we are looking for:
- Lead month‑end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Manage detailed reporting requirements in line with contractual obligations
- Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations including AP, invoicing, and payroll coordination
- Interpret and apply complex contract requirements to financial reporting and processes
- Manage billing cycles and ensure adherence to strict cut‑off timelines
- Support audit processes and maintain strong internal controls
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team
- Demonstrated leadership in building and developing high‑performing teams. Applications will bring demonstrated senior financial leadership experience, with the strategic ability to align finance initiatives with organisational goals. CA/CPA qualifications will be mandatory, and experience within regulated environments such as Government or Healthcare would be highly regarded. As a senior leadership role, exceptional communication skills, stakeholder engagement and executive advisory skills will be fundamental.
