Lead Mechanical Engineer (Melbourne)

We’re looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead and mentor teams on major water infrastructure projects. About the role Lead the mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure projects and provide technical oversight across pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets. Support projects across the full lifecycle from concept design to detailed design and Design & Construct delivery. Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level engineers. Build strong and trusted relationships with clients. Contribute to bids, proposals and business development. Collaborate across interstate teams (VIC, SA, QLD, WA) to deliver integrated solutions. Drive technical excellence and continuously improve delivery standards. Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering
- Strong background in water infrastructure (pumps, valves, mechanical systems, treatment and supply infrastructure)
- Experience in a consulting or project delivery workplace
- Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers
- Experience working on multidisciplinary projects Registrations & Experience
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) / RPEV
- RPEQ highly regarded
