Reference Number: ***** Employment Type: Fixed Term Full Time (FT) Location: Northern Health (All Campuses) About the Role This newly created position, Virtual Ward Lead, offers an exciting prospect to build a transformative virtual ward service that will operate state‑wide in Victoria. The role requires both virtual clinical ward work and non‑clinical leadership to design, implement and build a scalable state‑wide ward service. Responsibilities
- Attend patients and coordinate their ongoing care.
- Identify and build a ward‑based workforce to meet increased demand over time.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals, such as patients’ GPs, other medical staff within Virtual Health and externally, Nurses and Nurse Practitioners to provide exceptional care and patient‑centred outcomes.
- Design and implement a scalable virtual ward model of care. Qualifications / Skills
- Experience in managing patient admissions, especially in regional and rural urgent care centres and/or hospitals, is advantageous.
- Proven “out of the box” thinking and ability to thrive in quick‑paced environments.
- Experience utilising telehealth platforms.
- Significant competence with technology.
