Asset Protection Officer (Melbourne)

About the Role As an Asset Protection Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring that private development, service utility & other activities do not have a detrimental effect on public safety, the environment, local amenity and the condition of the community's built and natural assets. An Asset Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that relevant standards, specifications and conditions are met during the supervision of works within the road reserve and private developments. Core Responsibilities
- Ensure all works within road reserves and on Shire land are conducted safely and in compliance with permits, legislation and relevant standards.
- Issue permits promptly with appropriate conditions and conduct inspections in a timely manner to facilitate compliant works.
- Develop and maintain respectful interactions and relationships with contractors, service authorities, developers and community members, ensuring clear communication, service reliability and consistency. About You
- Experience with civil construction and working in a statutory function within a regulatory setting; experience in a customer service–related industry is desirable.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships.
- Understanding of the Road Management Act, Planning and Environment Act, OH&S; legislation and Council's Local Law; ability to interpret legislation, civil engineering drawings and assess construction compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, databases, in-field technology and experience using CRM systems and digital inspection tools.
