We are looking for an experienced HV Design/Primary Engineer to continue to grow and shape the success of our Power team.In this Melbourne or Sydney based role you will:Lead the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs and owner’s engineerDevelop, mentor and lead junior engineersLead the primary design of high voltage substations and other related infrastructureWork in collaboration with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reportsLead teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staffProvide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings etcMaintain expected current design standards as set by legislative requirementsCarry out quality checks and proceduresDraw upon your own technical expertise, and those of the broader team to deliver high-quality technical advice to our clientContribute in a team environment and drive delivery excellence across the Power teamPlay a supporting role and contribute to strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ and support cross business line activitiesThis exciting opportunity will bring a mix of your technical expertise and your design engineering and project management experience to deliver successful client outcomes.This is an interesting and varied role that will provide career growth and challenge.What we’ll like about youYou are a confident and capable senior engineer who is looking to be part of a growing team, passionate to work on iconic projects and seeking to enhance your career.Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative power engineering projects and designs.You are comfortable leading teams and mentoring junior engineers.You will also have varied Electrical Engineering skills which will allow you to contribute to the power business in a broader sense.Preferably, you will have proven capability across a range of the following areas:Understanding of a range of engineering disciplines and experience in electricity transmission, distribution and traction power projectsExperience within substation primary engineering position across HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV ideally)Experience in use of engineering software in the design (preferred)Understanding of design and how it impacts on constructionOrganised, adaptable and able to think outside the boxWell-developed interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationshipsExcellent communicator; able to explain complex issues to a range of stakeholders (internal and external)Results-oriented with good technical engineering basis in either transmission, distribution or rail traction power and managing project deliveryRelevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical EngineeringWhat We OfferA career with Beca will provide you with:Flexibility & Wellbeing: Flexible working options to manage personal and family priorities, along with dedicated leave for wellbeing and community engagementBelonging & Ownership: Join a diverse and inclusive team where collaboration and creativity thrive.
