Marhaba Lounge Chef/cook Melbourne Airport

- Preparing and cooking of meals/food at the lounge
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Ensure outstanding presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly workplace in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages What We’re Looking For:
- Entry level with 1+ year experience as a cook/chef
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Appropriate qualification/certificates an advantage
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts across a 7-day roster, with shifts commencing as early as 3:00am and finishing as late as 12:30am
- Versatile and willing attitude, strong written communication and customer service skills
- Immaculate grooming and pride in presentation
- A working understanding of food safety standards, Current RSA Certificate is a must
- You will require a security check to be able to successfully receive an ASIC Pass as a condition of successful employment
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unrestricted working rights in Australia What you will receive as an employee:
