The Role This is a challenging and vital role in driving the commercialization of these cutting‑edge solutions. You will be responsible for creating and nurturing strategic partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and shaping go‑to‑market strategies within the Australian and Current Zealand markets. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing market entry and growth strategies
- Building relationships with industry leaders, scale‑ups, and key stakeholders
- Negotiating commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and partnership deals
- Supporting sales activities by identifying opportunities and closing deals
- Providing market insights to inform strategic decisionsManaging multiple stakeholder relationships, including major research bodies
- Collaborating closely with technical teams to align market needs with product development
- Driving revenue growth and business expansion in different segments, including plants, microbes, and food The Senior Business Development Manager in this role will most likely have:
- Extensive commercial experience in food production, plant breeding, microbes, or related sectors
- Proven track record in B2B sales, contract negotiations, and relationship management
- Strong networking, communication, and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a pro‑active, results‑oriented approach
- Degree in business, commerce or a related field; food science or agricultural background preferred
- Ability to generate repeatable business outcomes and build long‑term relationships
