About The Role The Learner Wellbeing Case Advisor provides proactive and responsive case management support for behavioural, safety and wellbeing concerns involving students. The role is responsible for assessing and managing cases referred to the team, ensuring timely, proportionate, and risk‑aware responses that align with Swinburne policy and government legislation including but not limited to Swinburne's Support for Students policy, the National Higher Education Code to Prevention and Respond to Gender‑Based Violence and the Child Safe Standards. Working under the broad direction of the Team Leader, Learner Wellbeing Case Management, the Learner Wellbeing Case Advisor supports students navigating complex circumstances as well as staff working with or supporting students in student‑focus roles. This includes assisting students who have made disclosures or formal reports of harm, those involved in investigation or misconduct processes, and those otherwise referred to Safer Community. The role focuses on case coordination and facilitation of appropriate supports and helps students understand and engage with university expectations, while carefully managing conflicts of interest and maintaining clear separation from investigative and decision‑making functions. The Learner Wellbeing Case Advisor works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver inclusive, student‑focused support solutions. About You
- Demonstrated experience in case management support for a diverse client base experiencing safety, wellbeing and/or complex issues.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage supportively, clearly and professionally within a team and with diverse stakeholders, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Proven ability to undertake comprehensive needs and risk assessments and to develop and coordinate tailored, proportionate response plans that prioritise safety and wellbeing.
- Solid organisational and record‑keeping skills, with a demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, privacy legislation and ethical information handling. Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification in case management, social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline. What We Offer You
