Forensic Structural Engineer (Melbourne)

Forensic Structural Engineer Location: Melbourne, Brisbane – Full time. Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
- Identify design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation.
- Collect data using photographic equipment.
- Accurately and detailedly record data while in office.
- Prepare detailed computations for the repair of small to medium structures.
- Deliver design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Provide construction‑phase support on a wide array of projects. Qualifications
- At least 5 years of industry experience, with forensic engineering experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
- Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
- Interstate accreditations considered, including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
- Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
- Sound knowledge of the insurance industry, including claims lifecycle, legislative framework, applicable codes and products. Benefits
