Playgroups Activation Officer (Melton)

**Part Time Fixed Term Position
- December 2025 (Parental leave backfill)**

**20 hours per week (5 hours a day 9:00am to 2:30pm)
- Monday to Thursday**

**School Terms only**

**Band 4
- Salary Range $72,119 to $76,460**per annum pro rata + 11.5% Super**

**The Opportunity**

Melton City Council is looking for a skilled professional to support families to engage in Community Playgroups that build community capacity and actively engage families to run their own playgroup’s, meeting the needs of the diverse and growing community.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support families to engage in Community Playgroups that build community capacity and actively engage families to run their own playgroup.
- Support families to run playgroups that provide developmentally appropriate educational opportunities for children and peer support opportunities for parents/guardians/carers.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Post-secondary qualification with some experience in early childhood development, education, community or social services.
- Relevant experience and skills in working effectively with families and children.
- Understanding of child development and play based learning in the context of the family setting and playgroup setting.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues and situations as they arise.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
