- A values‑driven organisation committed to inclusion, wellbeing and quality About The Role Reporting to the Associate Professor & Head of Program Engineering (Civil), this position suits someone who is collaborative, student‑focused and passionate about higher education and engineering practice. This role is responsible for teaching into the Associate Degree and Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) programs within the Department of Business and Construction. You will contribute to high‑quality learning experiences for domestic and international students through the delivery of lectures, tutorials, workshops and assessment activities across a range of teaching environments, including blended and online learning. Working collaboratively with academic staff, you will support curriculum delivery, assessment development, student engagement and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with higher education quality standards. What You’ll Do
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops and practical classes across Civil Engineering subjects
- Prepare and maintain high‑quality learning, teaching and assessment materials
- Deliver engaging learning experiences across online, blended and face‑to‑face environments
- Support student learning, participation and academic progress through effective communication and tutorial support
- Develop fair, valid and reliable assessments aligned to subject learning outcomes
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance and assessment documentation using Moodle and institutional systems
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities to ensure relevance to current and future industry needs
- Participate in quality assurance, moderation and regulatory compliance activities including TEQSA requirements
- Collaborate with academic and professional staff to support positive student outcomes
- Maintain current knowledge of Civil Engineering industry practices and higher education pedagogy What You’ll Bring
- Experience teaching and developing course materials in higher education environments
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver curriculum and assessments for online, blended and flexible learning
- Ability to lecture, tutor and supervise projects across Civil Engineering subject areas
- Significant professional and industry experience relevant to Civil Engineering
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to students from diverse academic backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Desirable
- Experience teaching subjects such as structural engineering, engineering surveying, construction management, hydrology, transportation engineering or engineering mathematics
- Research and publication experience in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
- Experience contributing to higher education quality assurance and accreditation activities Qualifications & Mandatory Checks Qualifications
