Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Autonomous Aerial Robot for Agriculture The Technology Innovation Hub (TiHAN) has funded a project under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber‑Physical Systems (NM‑ICPS) for the development of an Autonomous Aerial Robotic System for Harvesting (AARSHa) of coconuts. The role involves working with a multirotor drone platform, designing necessary attachments, and testing the system in laboratory and real farm environments. Project Details
- Number of positions: 02
- Duration: 18 months
- Institutional policy: Candidates meeting institute criteria may be admitted to Ph.D. programmes. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test the multirotor (drone) platform and harvesting attachments.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and motion generation components for robotic operation.
- Develop and validate control, kinematics, and dynamics algorithms.
- Implement image‑processing and SLAM modules for autonomous navigation. Qualifications
- Essential: M.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics & Communications, Robotics, or embedded systems.
- B.Tech holders with robust knowledge in the required fields will also be considered. Desired Skillset
- Experience in flying, building, and testing multirotor drones.
- Experience in sensor integration, actuator control, and motion generation for robots.
- Programming in MATLAB & Simulink / Python / C / C++.
- Knowledge of robot kinematics and dynamics.
