Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation

Our client, The Trustee for METLA FAMILY TRUST trading as Punjab Sweets and Dhaba, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join their growing team.

Tasks Include:

• Planning and preparing a wide range of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, breads, snacks, sweets, and Punjabi specialty meals.

• Assisting in menu planning and introducing seasonal dishes and recent food ideas.

• Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to a consistently high standard during lunch and dinner service.

• Ensuring proper food portioning, presentation, seasoning, and temperature control.

• Monitoring food quality, freshness of ingredients, and overall kitchen operations.

• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.

• Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, checking deliveries, and ensuring proper storage and stock rotation.

• Supervising and assisting kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and productive service.

• Working closely with management and front-of-house staff to maintain customer satisfaction and timely service.

• Minimising food wastage through effective kitchen management and portion control.

• Following workplace health and safety procedures and contributing to a positive team environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certificate IV qualification or equivalent in Commercial Cookery or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of Full time relevant Work Experience as a Chef.

• Strong knowledge of Indian and Punjabi cuisine.

• Valuable understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
