Mernda, Australia | Posted on 28/05/2026 Bakers Delight Mernda Town Centre is seeking an experienced Baker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, producing, baking, and finishing a range of bread, rolls, pastries, and other flour-based products in line with recipes, production schedules, and quality standards.
Key Duties
- Prepare and produce bread, rolls, pastries, and related flour-based products.
- Measure, mix, knead, shape, mould, cut, and prove doughs.
- Operate commercial bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and moulders.
- Monitor baking times, temperatures, product quality, colour, texture, and consistency.
- Check raw ingredients and finished products to ensure quality and freshness.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work area in line with food safety standards.
- Store ingredients and finished products correctly to minimise wastage.
- Assist with daily production planning, stock rotation, and inventory control.
- Support and guide junior staff where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a commercial bakery environment.
- Relevant qualification in baking or equivalent practical experience.
- Robust knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, proving, shaping, and baking.
- Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and workplace procedures.
- Good understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
