About you and the role As a Grounds and Maintenance Officer, you are responsible for the development, maintenance and presentation of grounds, sporting fields, turfs, amenities, and gardens at the College. Your day will look like
- maintaining and caring for lawns, turf and garden areas including weed control across the College grounds
- helping out the team in other areas of the school as required, such as vehicle management, gardening, rubbish collection, and set up for school events
- working in a protected manner, particularly when it comes to manual handling For this role, you will need
- Actively support and role model the ethos and values of a Catholic College
- Have demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in a school environment
- Have demonstrated knowledge and awareness of Work, Health and Safety procedures and issues relative to the role and workplace
- Be computer literate and able to undertake online training, access emails and navigate the Facilities Maintenance ticketing system
- Possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate the capacity to work as a member of a team
- Be a self-starter with the ability to take the initiative and problem solve issues
