About the Role
The Yard Controller will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations at our Forrestfield site. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage yard logistics effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Yard Operations: Coordinate truck movements, ensure efficient loading/unloading.
Scheduling and Logistics: Execute collection and delivery schedules, booking yard collections, and managing time slots.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing products arriving at and leaving the site.
Team Collaboration: Liaise with internal staff, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Documentation: Assist in preparing delivery dockets and verifying delivery costs.
Safety and Compliance: Identify and report irregularities, maintain housekeeping standards, and uphold workplace safety protocols.
We’re looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a quick-paced environment and can effectively manage on-the-spot decisions. You’ll enjoy working in a hands-on role, coordinating a diverse team, and maintaining a well-organised yard.
Attributes and Experience:
5 years of logistics or yard coordinating/ management experience.
A forklift license and a background in yard operations are highly desirable.
Proficient in Excel and familiar with logistics systems.
Strong decision-making and communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage diverse teams.
Physically fit and comfortable working in a quick-paced, outdoor setting.
