**Key Responsibilities**
- **Designing Indian Garments**: Create innovative and culturally resonant designs for Indian garments that cater to the Australian market, with a focus on the needs and preferences of the Indian and biracial Indian communities.
- **Client Consultation**: Engage with clients to understand their objectives, preferences, and constraints, ensuring that the design brief aligns with their expectations.
- **Product Research**: Conduct thorough research on current trends, cultural influences, and market demands to inform design decisions. Analyze functional, commercial, cultural, and aesthetic requirements to create garments that meet both market needs and brand standards.
- **Design Conceptualization**: Develop and formulate unique design concepts for clothing that blend traditional Indian styles with modern aesthetics. Prepare sketches, diagrams, illustrations, and models to communicate these concepts effectively.
- **Community Engagement**: Actively involve the community in Australia by presenting design ideas, gathering feedback, and refining concepts to ensure the final product resonates with the target audience.
- **Collaborative Design Solutions**: Work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to negotiate and refine design solutions, ensuring that they are both aesthetically pleasing and feasible for production.
- **Material and Method Selection**: Recommend appropriate materials, production methods, and finishes that enhance the functionality and appeal of the garments. Ensure that all selected materials and processes align with the brand’s vision and quality standards.
- **Production Design**: Translate design concepts into practical production designs, providing detailed specifications for manufacturing. Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet the design brief and quality expectations.
- **Prototype Development**: Prepare and commission prototypes and samples, coordinating with production teams to ensure that the final product meets all design and quality standards.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience in fashion design with a strong focus on Indian garments.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian fashion trends, têxtiles, and craftsmanship.
- Understanding of the Australian fashion market and consumer preferences.
- Excellent design skills, including sketching, illustration, and computer-aided designing softwares.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

**Experience**
- Proven experience in fashion design, particularly with Indian garments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing Indian garments specifically for export markets.
- Proven ability to create designs that resonate with the Australian Indian community.
- Strong understanding of Indian fashion trends, têxtiles, and craftsmanship.
- Demonstrated ability to build robust networks within the fashion industry to drive business growth.
- Demonstrated ability and experience of working with diverse cultural groups.
- Experience in managing the operational aspects of fashion production, including material selection and prototype development.

**Qualifications & Requirements for the Position**
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of the fashion market and consumer preferences.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and negotiate design ideas effectively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to translate client needs into compelling design concepts

Pay: $80,000.00
- $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:
