Aluminium Die Designer (Minto)

This position is responsible for designing aluminium extrusion dies to ensure optimal design for production purposes. The role also involves customer relationships, troubleshooting and problem-solving die failures.

**PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Design solid and hollow dies using CAD. This includes current dies, remake and support tools.
- Liaise with customer and production to improve product design to satisfy customer requirements and maximise extrusion performance.
- Ensure optimisation, die life, manufacturing cost, and delivery performance are maintained.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with customers to support die correction.
- Other key accountabilities appropriate to the position as determined by the manager of the role.

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Trade qualified Toolmaker or Machinist (essential)
- Knowledge of current techniques and practices in die design for both solid and hollow dies.
- Experience in a die design.
- Problem solving; with the ability to make logical and well-reasoned decisions.
- Accurately work with and interpret, numbers and technical detail.
- Understand the importance of quality to the business and demonstrate attention to detail.
