Aluminium Die Designer Minto

This position is responsible for designing aluminium extrusion dies to ensure optimal design for production purposes. The role also involves customer relationships, troubleshooting and problem-solving die failures.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design solid and hollow dies using CAD. This includes current dies, remake and support tools.

Liaise with customer and production to improve product design to satisfy customer requirements and maximise extrusion performance.

Ensure optimisation, die life, manufacturing cost, and delivery performance are maintained.

Develop and maintain effective communication with customers to support die correction.

Other key accountabilities appropriate to the position as determined by the manager of the role.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

Trade qualified Toolmaker or Machinist (essential)

Knowledge of current techniques and practices in die design for both solid and hollow dies.

Experience in a die design.

Problem solving; with the ability to make logical and well-reasoned decisions.

Accurately work with and interpret, numbers and technical detail.

Understand the importance of quality to the business and demonstrate attention to detail.

Applicants must also be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical inclusive of drug and alcohol test.
