The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of The Sutherland Hospital consistent with SESLHD and The Sutherland Hospital policies, procedures and standards. The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for delegated functions. All Enrolled Nurses must comply and act in accordance with recognised qualified and organisational standards established by:

- The Sutherland Hospital Clinical supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse/Midwife and Enrolled Nurse within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. Please note we are not offering sponsorship for work rights for this position. The ideal candidate will have:
- Current unrestricted registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centred environment.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles. 1982 hours (equivalent to one year full time) or more post registration experience in an acute care setting.
