- Genuine opportunity to influence how payroll is delivered About the Role As Senior Payroll Officer, you will take ownership of key payroll operations across multiple aged care homes, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in line with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislation. You will be a key senior point of contact within the payroll function, supporting the Payroll Coordinators through mentoring, guidance and knowledge sharing, while also contributing to continuous improvement and system optimisation initiatives. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, confident in complex payroll environments, and motivated by improving how things are done. Key Responsibilities
- Support end‑to‑end payroll processing across multiple sites
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with Awards, EBA and legislation
- Maintain payroll data, employee changes and leave records
- Support payroll reporting, audits and data integrity
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers
- Work closely with HR, Finance and Rostering teams
- Guide, mentor and support Payroll Coordinators
- Contribute to payroll system improvements and efficiencies
- Support implementation and optimisation of Humanforce
- Help ensure payroll runs smoothly, accurately and on time About You You are a confident and experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, service and leadership. You enjoy supporting others, solving problems and improving systems in a fast‑paced environment. You will bring:
- 5+ years’ end‑to‑end payroll experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of Awards, EBA and payroll legislation (essential)
- Strong Excel and payroll systems capability (essential)
- High attention to detail and solid problem‑solving skills
- Leadership, mentoring or coaching experience (essential)
- Ability to manage competing deadlines Highly regarded:
- Residential Aged Care payroll experience
- Experience with Humanforce or Employee Connect
- Exposure to payroll system implementation or improvement projects What We Offer
