Casual Financial Accountant (Moe)

Job No.: 694164 Location: 211 Wellington Road, Mulgrave Employment Type: Casual (approximately 18 hours per week) Duration: 16 weeks Remuneration: HEW 7, $72.05 per hour (loaded casual rate) Prospect The Casual Financial Accountant will provide expert accounting services to the University, maintaining accurate general ledger and accounting integrity. The role is pivotal in supporting month‑end and year‑end processes, delivering financial analysis, and assisting with statutory reporting. The accountant will also help enhance financial reporting activities, process improvements, and the use of AI across Group Accounting. Responsibilities
- Deliver core financial accounting functions and support month‑end and year‑end close‑off processes.
- Prepare summary financial information and provide detailed financial analysis.
- Assist with audit compliance and provide technical advice for strategic decision‑making.
- Shape financial policy and contribute to system enhancements through process improvements and training.
- Collaborate with business units and functional areas to ensure consistency, integrity, and continuous improvement in financial practices. Qualifications
- Degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent experience.
- CPA or CA status is preferred.
- Deep expertise in Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting, and financial audits.
- Proven ability to develop financial reports and deliver analytical insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
