Internal Auditor (Moruya)

About the role This permanent, full‑time role is in the Governance and Risk team, based in Moruya. The successful candidate will lead Council’s internal audit and service review function by delivering a risk‑based audit program aligned with strategic and operational risks. The role provides expert advice, oversees audit outcomes and action follow‑up, liaises with Council’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) and external auditors, and supports strong governance, effective services, and statutory compliance through practical risk mitigation guidance. Moruya, New South Wales. Full‑time. The starting salary for this position is $112,580.55 per annum plus 12% superannuation. About you We are looking for an experienced internal audit professional with a Certified Internal Auditor qualification and/or a relevant tertiary degree, and a solid background in leading internal audit programs. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of project management and enterprise risk management, can influence stakeholders at all levels, and communicates clearly through high‑quality reporting and presentations. Self‑motivated, organised, able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and possesses strong Microsoft Office skills and experience using audit documentation systems or databases.
