The Role We are growing the culinary leadership team across Kpat Hotel's Mooloolaba Precinct and are looking for an exceptional Head Chef to take ownership of one of our venues. As part of your onboarding, we will work with you to identify the best fit within the precinct based on your strengths, experience and ambitions. You will have the support of a passionate team, located in a stunning coastal setting, and the full backing of Kpat Hotel to do something genuinely great with it. This is a role for someone with serious credentials, a sharp commercial mind and the kind of confident, grounded leadership that sets a culture and raises a standard. Someone who is excited by a new opening and hungry to make their mark on one of the Sunshine Coast's most exciting new hospitality destinations. Key Responsibilities
• Take full ownership of your venue's kitchen, delivering consistent, high-quality food that reflects its identity and the broader precinct's coastal spirit
• Drive menu development with a focus on seasonality, local produce and the expectations of a premium hotel dining experience
• Own the daily running of a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen with professionalism and precision
• Build, mentor and develop a large kitchen team, creating a high-performance culture grounded in respect, accountability and growth
• Manage food cost, labour, wastage and forecasting to deliver strong financial outcomes
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships with a focus on quality and local sourcing
• Work closely with precinct leadership on food strategy, events and programming
• Be a visible, hands-on presence in service, setting the tone and leading from the front
• Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance What We're Looking For
• A proven Head Chef with serious credentials across fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environments
• Demonstrated experience leading large kitchen teams and developing talent at all levels
• Solid understanding of large format venue operations and the discipline required to deliver at scale
• Commercially astute with solid experience managing food cost, labour and kitchen budgets
• A natural leader who builds culture intentionally and holds a high standard without compromise
• Passionate about local produce and delivering food that reflects its surroundings
• A confident communicator who works well with front of house, management and suppliers alike
