Assistant Caretaker (Moonah)

reqId: 167345 Category: Trades, Labour & Maintenance Services Location: Moonah, Tasmania, 7009 Permanent About the role Ventia’s TasWater contract is a long‑term partnership where Ventia delivers essential maintenance, asset management, and project delivery services across Tasmania’s water and sewerage network. We have a newly created position for a part time or Casual Assistant Caretaker who will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning, hygiene and presentation of public amenities including toilets, BBQs and shelters while supporting the Primary Caretaker with broader park maintenance and visitor services. This role will be based out of the Risdon Brook dam and suit someone looking for a couple of hours of work each day. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting the Primary Caretaker with presentation and operation of Risdon Brook Dam
- Scheduled cleaning, restocking, and sanitisation of public toilets, BBQ facilities, shelters, and associated amenities
- Use of approved chemicals in line with safety and environmental procedures
- Management of consumables (toilet paper, soap, cleaning agents)
• Reporting faults, vandalism, or hygiene risks to the Primary Caretaker
- High-pressure cleaning of surfaces, BBQs, and pathways as required About You
- Experience in commercial or facilities cleaning is highly regarded
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, initiative, energy and organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
