Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative – Health & Wellbeing has the following vacancies: Cancer Care Coordinator Full-time, 38 hours a week, Fixed Term to 30/06/2028 T his is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply. About the Role The Cancer Coordinator plays a key role in improving access, coordination, and culturally safe support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people affected by cancer. The role works closely with clients, families, carers, internal staff, and external health services including Goulburn Valley Health to reduce barriers to care, strengthen referral pathways, improve service navigation, and support better cancer outcomes for Aboriginal communities. The position provides practical, emotional, and system navigation support across the cancer journey, ensuring Aboriginal clients receive culturally responsive and coordinated care. About You To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Qualification in Aboriginal Health, Community Services, Social Work, Nursing, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeingneeds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Experience in care coordination, community services, Aboriginal health, cancer support, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with health services, community organisations, clients, and families.
- Knowledge of barriers impacting Aboriginal people accessing healthcare services.
- Knowledge of cancer care pathways and support services. Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records. What We Offer:
