About the Role
The Chef position is responsible for cooking menu items and supporting day-to-day kitchen operations within a fast-paced commercial kitchen setting. The role supports food service delivery by ensuring dishes are cooked consistently, efficiently, and in line with established recipes, presentation standards, and kitchen procedures.
Location: Shop 1A/28 Kurrak Rd, Yarrambat VIC 3091
Employment Type: Full time
Salary: $76,000 to $80,000 + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities Cook menu items in line with established recipes and presentation standards Monitor cooking processes to maintain food quality, consistency, and timely service Operate across different kitchen sections during busy service periods as required Ensure dishes are presented according to business standards before service Assist with daily kitchen coordination and workflow during service operations Monitor stock usage and assist with stock rotation and ingredient storage procedures Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas Assist with monitoring portion consistency and kitchen service standards Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations
Skills & Experience Relevant qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent Minimum 3 years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar role Experience working within a commercial kitchen or hospitality workplace Robust understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen workflow, and service operations Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Solid teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
