Veterinary Surgery Nurse Assistant
- Full-Time Reporting to the Surgery Coordinator, you will work alongside our vets and nurses to deliver gold‑standard care with compassion. - Set up, clean, disinfect, pack down and maintain all surgical areas and equipment including prep, theatre, autoclave room, imaging rooms. (cleaning is the core focus of this role)
- Contribute to the upkeep of hygiene and cleanliness within the hospital treatment areas.
- Ensure the thorough cleaning, sterilisation and protected handling of surgical instruments in accordance with infection control protocols and industry standards.
- Ensure surgical areas are fully restocked and maintained to support efficient clinical operations.
- Complete tasks on the Nurse Assistant Checklist and Infection Control Checklists in a timely and proficient manner.
- Occasionally assist with patient restraint for procedures (under supervision) as required.
- Understand and adhere to BVSC’s governance and WHS policies to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with BVSC’s high standards of care and safety. Working 38 hours per week over 5 days: Monday – Friday 7am – 3pm About You

- A solid understanding of infection control, workplace health and safety principles, and safe manual handling.
- Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to complete the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
- Must have Certificate II or III Animal Studies.
