About The Role We have an opportunity for a PSV Company Bus Driver to join our team. Working hours: 07:00
- 10:00 and 14:00
- 17:00, 25 hour contract. Parking available on site. Job Purpose A PSV Company bus driver is responsible for driving a passenger‑carrying vehicle and providing valuable customer service and a safe, comfortable journey across the HATS network. Position in the Organisation Chart Team leader > Controller > PSV Company Bus Driver Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients throughout the journey and handover.
- Wear high‑visibility PPE in vehicle movement areas.
- Observe speed limits within bus depots and school premises.
- Check vehicle condition before service: conduct safety walk‑round, report defects, complete Vehicle Defect Card or electronic entry, and maintain cleanliness.
- Comply with laws and company regulations regarding mobile phone use, smoking, and prohibited equipment.
- Take responsibility for safety, security, welfare, environmental and fire safety arrangements; attend briefings and training.
- Report safety incidents using company procedure and understand emergency and evacuation plans.
- Keep bus cabin clean and tidy.
- Provide high standard of customer service and give information about road closures, diversions, and other journey matters.
- Behave friendly and professional towards customers and colleagues.
- Assist with additional needs of children, vulnerable adults, elderly, infirm or disabled passengers.
- Drive company vehicles safely, legally, and professionally.
- Adhere to timetable; avoid running early or late when safe to do so.
- Stay updated on road closures, diversions or special events; receive briefings.
- Hold a valid driving licence, CPC licence, and ensure availability for inspection by staff. Work Environment
- Driver’s licence: D1 category, no restrictions, CPC licence valid. Medical renewals up to date.
- Report any licence changes affecting entitlement (e.g., sickness, injury, conviction) to line manager.
- Licence available for inspection every six months.
- Report to work on time with correct equipment.
- Observe company dress code at all times.
- Do not report for work when overtired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Follow notification procedures for absences.
- Report all safety, security, driving, and customer service incidents to line manager.
- Report road incidents that may affect service (closures, accidents, emergencies).
- Participate in yearly appraisal.
- Provide suggestions for service improvement to line manager.
- Maintain adherence to all HATS policies and procedures.
- Accept reasonable requests from the company. Working Conditions The role involves flexible hours with core times 07:00‑09:00 and 14:30‑16:30. Additional work may be required.
