Chef (Mordialloc)

Currently, we are looking for an experienced and skilled Chef to join our team.

**The successful applicant will be responsible for**:

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the café’s menu and standards.
- Ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control are maintained.
- Always maintaining excellent standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Assisting in menu planning and food preparation processes.
- Ordering stock and assisting in controlling kitchen costs and minimizing food wastage.
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure safe work practices are always implemented.
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring ingredients are stored appropriately.
- Assisting in maintaining compliance with food safety and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Contributing positively to a collaborative and team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.

**About you**

The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine passion for cooking and hospitality, with the ability to thrive in a busy café environment.
- **To be considered for this role, you should possess the following**:_
- At least a Diploma in Hospitality Management
- At least 12 months of full-time work experience as a Chef in a similar restaurant
- A strong commitment to the hospitality industry and passion for food preparation
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is highly regarded
- Good communication and time management skills
- A creative approach to food preparation and presentation
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to be hands-on and work efficiently in the kitchen
- Commitment to maintaining safe work practices and kitchen cleanliness
