Surgery Vet Nurse - AEC Moorabbin (City of Kingston)

Job Description This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to contribute to the success of a well-established and well loved hospital. We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse with anaesthesia skills to complete our specialist surgery team
- and most importantly, make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their families. This is a Part-time role. We provide the highest standard of nursing and patient care and we are seeking a qualified veterinary nurse to join our friendly, dynamic surgical team. As a Surgery Vet Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care
- Surgery Preparation & Theatre Nursing
- Provide expert nursing care during complex surgical procedures, including anaesthesia and monitoring.
- Carry out diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with the surgical team, and all departments, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
- Administer medications and follow established protocols
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Willingness to when needed, help the other department nurses, which is integral to maintain a team atmosphere About You:
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary nursing
- Solid knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
- Proficient anaesthesia skills with the ability to monitor patients safely and effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
