Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety is one of Australia's leading retail franchises in the workwear and safety gear industry, with 57 stores nationwide. Our Morwell store is proud to serve the local construction, logistics, and industrial community with premium workwear, PPE, and safety solutions.

We are locally owned and operated, but part of a powerful national network with international supplier relationships—particularly in China, where over 80% of our products are sourced.

The Role

We are seeking a driven Retail Manager to lead daily operations, manage a small team, coordinate inventory and suppliers, and engage directly with both local customers and Mandarin-speaking overseas suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day store operations, staff rosters, and performance

Maintain stock levels, liaise with suppliers, and coordinate orders

Drive in-store promotions, campaigns, and sales strategies

Deliver excellent customer service, including to Mandarin-speaking clients

Communicate with overseas suppliers for custom orders and product quality control

Monitor P&L; performance and implement continuous improvements

Requirements:

3+ years of retail management experience (workwear, safety, hardware or apparel preferred)

Proven staff leadership and training abilities

Strong knowledge of inventory and point-of-sale systems

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Fluency in Mandarin (Highly Desirable)

Ability to work autonomously and in a fast-paced workplace
