Mechanical Engineer - Building Services (Cremorne)

ABOUT US WRAP Engineering is a comprehensive building services engineering consultancy founded in 2016 and led by Rob Holovka, Steve Beer, James Vercoulen and Kavita Gusain. We offer the full spectrum of building services disciplines (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, hydraulic, vertical transportation, and environmentally sustainable design) across all sectors (residential, commercial, education, industrial, hotel, retail, etc.). OVERVIEW The Mechanical Engineer supports project leaders and manages the design and documentation of mechanical building services. Duties include liaising with clients, consultants and engineering colleagues to design and deliver documentation of mechanical building services for projects, attending site and design meetings, and building and maintaining good relationships with design team members, suppliers and clients. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver detailed mechanical services design and documentation for various projects.
- Carry out performance based CFD modeling design assessments and calculations.
- Undertake detailed thermal heat load modeling to assist with formulating effective airconditioning design solutions.
- Attend and manage project/client/site meetings as required.
- Allocate and monitor workloads of yourself and others, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality documentation deliverables.
- Build and maintain client relationships, including assisting with new business opportunities.
- Multi-disciplinary collaboration with other building services professionals.
- Interpret relevant Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia, ensuring your knowledge of these is comprehensively maintained.
- Prepare relevant reports and documentation. REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 18+ months local building services experience in design and documentation in mechanical building services.
- High level proficiency using relevant software O365, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, CAMEL and Pyrosim.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standard AS1668 Part 1,2 & 4.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise positively with key stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
- Strong client focus and the ability to work within a project team.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
