Description
Moss Vale, New South Wales Contract position – temporary full-time until October 2027. Applications close: 18 May 2026. Description The Bushland Field Officer will report to the Coordinator Bushland and Biosecurity and play a key role in delivering bush regeneration activities to improve, restore, and maintain over 3,000 hectares of natural bushland within Wingecarribee Shire Council. Key responsibilities include applying industry‑standard practices for weed control, conducting trail maintenance, undertaking mapping and monitoring of natural areas, and coordinating and leading weekly working bees with volunteers while providing on‑site supervision. The position supports the Council’s Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Waste & Environmental Sustainability Branch Business Plan, adhering to Council policies, procedures, and codes of practice. - Certificate III Conservation & Ecosystem Management or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
- Experience in bush regeneration activities, safe handling of power tools (chainsaws, brush cutters), and chemical weed control.
- Proficient with technology, including mobile and desktop applications.
- Robust customer service skills and experience interacting with the public, including volunteers.
- Knowledge of WHS and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles.
- Current NSW Class C driver’s licence, WHS induction card, Chainsaw 1 Certificate, AQF 3 Chemical Accreditation, and current First Aid Certificate. Other Requirements
- Willingness to undergo a pre‑employment medical prior to commencement.
- Current Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain before commencement.
