Bakers Pantry Mount Barker is seeking an experienced and reliable Baker to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking and presenting a range of bakery products while maintaining consistent quality, food safety and hygiene standards.

This role is suitable for someone with robust practical baking experience, good time management skills and the ability to work in a busy bakery production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, mix, knead, mould and bake bread, rolls, buns, pastries, cakes and other bakery products according to business recipes and production standards.

- Operate commercial bakery equipment including mixers, dough dividers, moulders, provers, ovens and other baking equipment safely and efficiently.

- Monitor dough preparation, fermentation, proofing times, oven temperatures and finished product quality to ensure consistency.

- Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards, including cleaning and sanitising equipment, benches and work areas.

- Manage ingredient preparation, stock rotation, wastage control and assist with ordering bakery supplies when required.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Baker or similar role in a commercial bakery or food production environment.

- Ability to prepare and bake bakery products from raw ingredients.

- Strong knowledge of dough preparation, proofing, baking temperatures and product quality control.

- Ability to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.

- Reliable, hardworking and able to work well in a team environment.

A relevant baking qualification is preferred, however applicants with strong practical bakery experience will also be considered. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe work practices is highly regarded.
