Business Development Representative – Technology & Digital Melbourne, VIC | In Person | AU$70,000 – AU$90,000 per year Job Overview We are looking for a confident, people-first Business Development Representative to join our Melbourne team. You will get out there, meet business owners and decision-makers, attend events and expos, and open doors for our team. A key part of the role also involves being the face of our brand on camera — appearing in short-form videos, event content, and social posts, with our team handling setup, filming support, and editing. Your job is simply to show up, be yourself, and speak naturally about what we do. You do not need to be a developer or have deep technical knowledge. You do need a valuable feel for the tech and digital world — understanding how businesses use websites, apps, and digital tools — and be genuinely energised by sales conversations and building relationships. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Attend networking events, business expos, and industry meetups to meet potential clients and build relationships.
- Represent the company professionally at events, meetings, and business forums.
- Start genuine conversations with business owners and decision-makers to understand their needs and identify real opportunities.
- Follow up with contacts through calls, emails, and LinkedIn to keep conversations moving.
- Book introductory meetings for our senior team when there is a strong fit.
- Manage your pipeline and follow-ups using our CRM system.
- Build genuine long-term relationships with clients, partners, and referral contacts.
- Work closely with our internal team to hand over opportunities smoothly.
- Help with event outreach before and after each event. On-Camera & Brand Presence (Supporting Role)
- Appear on camera for short-form videos, event content, and social media posts — our team handles all setup, filming support, and editing.
- Represent our brand naturally and confidently in video content; no production experience required.
- Share stories and insights from events and client interactions that the team can turn into content. What We're Looking For
- Melbourne-based candidates only.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or a client-facing role — experience in a tech or digital environment is a plus.
- A solid understanding of the tech and digital world — you do not need to be technical, but you should understand how businesses use websites, apps, online stores, and digital tools, and be comfortable talking about them confidently.
- A genuine love of sales and business development — you enjoy meeting people, spotting opportunities, and opening doors, not pushing hard sells.
- Confidently attending events and speaking with founders, business owners, and decision-makers.
- Comfortable and natural on camera — you do not need any production or editing skills, just the ability to present yourself well and speak authentically.
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, organised, and on top of your follow-ups.
- Comfortable using a CRM system to manage contacts and track conversations.
- Happy working in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same. What You Should Be Familiar With You do not need to be technical, but it helps if you have a working understanding of:
- How businesses use websites, mobile apps, and online stores
- The role of digital tools and technology in modern business
- CRM tools for managing contacts and follow-ups (e.g. HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce)
- How AI tools are changing the way businesses operate
