- Getting it done Job Description Based in Mt Waverley (outside the CBD) this is a newly created Workforce Planner role providing dedicated workforce planning, rostering insight and analytical support across Autobarn’s retail network of 108 stores. The role has been established to bring greater structure, insight and data‑led decision making to workforce planning and labour optimisation. It offers the opportunity to make the role your own with robust support from a highly engaged and collaborative Manager. As the Workforce Planner, you will have the opportunity to shape the approach, processes and impact from the ground up. You’ll be working in a big‑box retail environment with a high SKU count and fast‑moving demand, where scale and complexity are part of the challenge and the appeal. The role has direct influence on how Store Managers plan labour and build rosters, supported by a leadership team. The position is hybrid, with most of the week based onsite in Mt Waverley, allowing for close collaboration with Operations and support teams. If you enjoy complexity, scale, analysis and the satisfaction of making things work better this role will suit you. Key Responsibilities Workforce Planning & Forecasting
- Forecast labour demand across 108 stores using sales, traffic, seasonal and promotional data
- Build workforce plans aligned to labour budgets and operational priorities
- Monitor planned vs actual hours and identify optimisation opportunities Rostering & Store Support
- Support Store Managers with guidance, tools and insights to improve rostering efficiency
- Use UKG (or similar systems) to enable compliant, cost‑effective rosters
- Identify and address overtime, under‑resourcing and labour inefficiencies Analytics & Decision Support
- Deliver clear workforce insights to Operations and senior leaders
- Support planning for new stores, refurbishments and major trading events
- Develop practical dashboards and reports to support labour decisions Labour Cost & Continuous Improvement
- Track labour spend and help reduce avoidable costs
- Improve workforce planning processes and ways of working
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Payroll and People & Culture Qualifications You’re someone who enjoys working at scale and doesn’t shy away from complexity. You’ll likely bring:
- Experience in big‑box retail or large multi‑site environments
- Exposure to high SKU count operations and fast‑moving trading conditions
- Strong experience in workforce planning, rostering or labour analyticsHands‑on experience with UKG/Kronos or similar rostering systems
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- The confidence to engage Store and Area Managers and influence ways of working
