Ernest Henry 2026 Apprenticeship Program Intake About the role The Apprentice – Mechanical Technician will complete a structured four-year apprenticeship program at Ernest Henry, leading to a nationally recognised trade qualification in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting & Machining). This role supports the Mill Maintenance team, assisting with the safe and reliable operation of the processing plant. You will gain hands‑on experience working on surface fixed plant and rotating equipment, learning from experienced tradespeople across a range of maintenance activities. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will build your skills across installations, preventative maintenance, and breakdown work while progressively increasing your responsibility as you develop. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start a long‑term career in the mining and resources industry. Responsibilities
- Assisting tradespeople with maintenance of fixed plant equipment including mills, crushers, pumps and conveyors
- Supporting installation work, alignments, lubrication and component change‑outs
- Assisting with breakdown response and fault finding activities
- Completing inspections and maintenance records appropriate to your stage of training
- Maintaining secure and clean work areas
- Participating in on‑the‑job training and development activities
- Undertaking formal study towards Certificate III in Engineering
- Following all site safety systems and contributing to a strong safety culture About you You are motivated, reliable and eager to learn. - Completion of Year 10 or equivalent (preferred)
