No. 37756 We currently have a vacancy for a Controller – Projects in our Surface Engineering department. This team works over four major processing facilities: the Copper Concentrator, the Lead Zinc Concentrator, the Lead Smelter and the Copper Smelter. The Role This role is a full‑time permanent position based residentially in Mount Isa on a 5/2 | 4/3 lifestyle roster. The newly formed Queensland Metals Surface Engineering team covers an extensive asset portfolio including two concentrators and two smelters. - Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts aligned with approved baselines.
- Manage cost control, forecasting, accruals, procurement and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement to optimise project delivery.
- Prepare project performance reports analysing cost, schedule and risk trends.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance and stakeholders to ensure accurate data and reporting.
- Maintain data integrity across SAP, Contruent, and Power BI systems.
- Ensure compliance with Governance frameworks and support audits and close‑out activities. The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in mining or other relevant operating industrial sectors.
- 5+ years relevant SAP (or other similar CMMS) Asset Management master data experience.
- Relevant project control or similar project planning experience throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
