About The Role
The Head of Curriculum role at Doomadgee State School is a leadership position focused on improving teaching quality, curriculum implementation, student achievement and whole‑school instructional practices within a remote Prep‑Year 10 setting. The school's vision is to empower students towards "a Life of Choice" through culturally responsive and context‑rich learning experiences.
We are looking for an experienced educator with robust instructional leadership capability, experience in curriculum and pedagogy, and a commitment to working in a rural and remote Indigenous community setting.
Responsibilities Leading curriculum planning and implementation aligned to the Australian Curriculum Coaching and supporting teachers to strengthen pedagogical practice Using student data to drive school improvement priorities Supporting literacy, numeracy and engagement strategies Working collaboratively with leadership, teachers, families and community Ensuring curriculum delivery is culturally responsive and appropriate for the Doomadgee context Contributing to whole‑school improvement agendas and qualified learning
